Robert Hurt Not So Conservative- Part 3

Today we examine Senator Hurt's vote for HB 2035, an all-out assault on parental rights.
This pet project of Bill Bolling's could and should get Robert in a little trouble with proponents of limited government.

Again, I am certain Senator Hurt had nothing malevolent in his heart and mind as he voted for this piece of legislation.
Regardless, we must be able to trust our Republican legislators to properly vet legislation they consider before voting on it.
Men and ladies who campaign as government watchdogs must find it incumbent upon themselves to take the role seriously.
If, as I suspect is true, Robert simply did not read and/or understand this legislation before voting for it, there even still is no excuse for such a vote.

Let's talk about 2035 for a minute.
Just a couple years ago, Merck and Glaxo developed a vaccine for the Human Papilloma Virus, a cause of cervical cancer.
Sounds good.........until one understands that according to many medical doctors, including Dr. Charlotte Haug, MD, PhD, MSc, there is no reason to believe that this vaccine has even been properly proven to work in the women of the youngest ages (12) for which it has ostensibly been marketed.
You can read Dr. Haug's opinion here
She really lays out the case against this whole scheme to enrich pharmaceutical makers and politicians, though she does not case it as such.

I'll leave the proof of the medical unnecessity of this drug to Dr. Haug; I wish to discuss the constitutional and parental rights upon which this bill royally tramples.

How many of us believe it is the place or power of government to force upon twelve year old girls a vaccine for a non-epidemic disease, with or without the permission of her parents?
But that is exactly what Senator Hurt voted for when he voted for HB 2035.

Read this summary of HB 2035 as passed by the House of Delegates;

Required vaccinations; adds human papillomavirus vaccine. Requires females to receive three properly spaced doses of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. The first dose shall be administered before the child enters the sixth grade.

To Ken Cuccinelli's credit, he forced Tim Kaine to add a parental opt-out to this bill, but regardless, it should never have made it out of a Republican controlled committee, much less pass a Republican controlled House.

The idea that our elected officials think they have the right under their constitutional power to force a vaccine for a non-epidemic disease which can ONLY be contracted by having sexual relations, is worse than offensive;
It is an all-out assault on the American principles of parental rights and personal freedom.

Nowhere does the Constitution give political authorities the power to tell us what health choices we must make, ( abortion is NOT a health choice) or worse, to make for our own daughters.

To think that Senator Hurt's action by his vote gives the impression, correct or not, that he views his role in the oversight of my daughter's health and sexual behavior to be paramount to mine, and that his vote assumes sexual promiscuity on the part of my daughter, and that he has the right to make health decisions for her whether or not I sign off on it, is mind-boggling!

How have we, in the Unites States of America gotten to the point where Republicans are actually taking it upon themselves to patron, champion, and vote for legislation like this?

How can men like Bill Bolling, whose National Lieutenant Governors Association made this legislation their number1 priority, and Robert Hurt conscience usurping our individual freedom to make it their choice?

Perhaps it has something to do with fact that Mr. Bolling received over three thousand dollars from Merck and Glaxo for his efforts, and Senator Hurt also received money from Glaxo.....
Perhaps their contributions have nothing to do with his support; it really is immaterial to my argument.
Again, it is NOT the motives and heart of the senator I question, simply the outcome of his actions.

Back to the facts of the case;
Merck and Glaxo have financed a worldwide campaign to get this legislation passed in mandatory form all over the world and in all fifty United States;
Only Virginia, of all the U.S., has passed legislation making this vaccination mandatory for school entry.
Money talks, eh?
Perhaps Bolling and Hurt should have more carefully vetted the patron of HB 2035, Phil Hamilton.
He recently found himself in deep legal trouble for using his position in the House of Delegates to get himself a $40,000 a year job.

No politician should be above the laws by which we all abide, and they certainly should not be allowed to overstep the bounds of their constitutional power, though it is happening on a daily basis.
As he begins to look more and more like more of the same, it is all the more reason Senator Hurt should not be the Republican nominee for Congress in the 5th district.

How can he call Perriello into account for supporting the ObamaCare bill which has it's own HPV provision in it, when Hurt has already beat him to it here in Virginia?

Just as with Cap and Tax, Senator Hurt has voluntarily given away any hope of credibility with which to oppose the forced HPV vaccination agenda of Tom Perriello and Barak Obama
